Our Mission
The mission of the South Central Safety Association is to bring safety to the forefront in all business sectors through education, training and healthy environments. The board of directors for the association is led by individuals from all types of industry in the area including health care, construction, retail, and manufacturing.

What We Accomplished in 2025
This past year, our members benefited from hands-on training, expert presentations, and real-world knowledge, including:
• WSI Ergonomic Grant Guidance – Step-by-step help from Randy Wegge (WSI) and Megan Beck (Mobility Plus) on applying for funding to improve workplace ergonomics.
• CPR Awareness & Certification – Penny Briese highlighted certification requirements and why every workplace should be prepared for emergencies.
• Hand Safety & PPE – Doug Bohl (Ansell) shared powerful insight into hand injury prevention and proper glove selection.
• Live Fire Extinguisher Training – Members practiced extinguishing a simulated fire using a laser-based system, thanks to Sheldon Mohr (Jamestown Fire Department).
• Respiratory Protection & Hearing Conservation – Donna Hetland (OECS) walked through required programs and best practices used in North Dakota workplaces.
• A Powerful Personal Testimony – Harlan Olson (ND WSI) shared how a workplace incident changed his life, reminding us why safety matters every day.
These sessions equipped our members with practical tools they could immediately apply in their workplaces.
